5S OF THE DIE SETUP AREA

Team members: Loyd Aga, Juan Saenz, James Lincoln, John Howze, Kent Frame and Terry Pille
This event took a total of 60 hours to complete.

SORT
- Removed everything from the Shot Rod Storage Rack
- Removed everything from the Bumper Pin and Accessories Shelves
- Removed everything from the Chamber Storage Racks
- Removed everything from the Die Cast Set-Up Cart
- Removed all unnecessary items and red-tagged them onto pallets
SET IN ORDER
- Organized everything from the Shot Rod Storage Rack
- Organized everything from the Bumper Pin and Accessories Shelves
- Organized everything from the Chamber Storage Racks
- Organized Tools and Equipment holders in and on Die Cast Set-Up Cart
- Installed Hose hangers for the gas hoses and added a new gas heater pipe holder
SHINE
- Cleaned the Shot Rod Storage Rack
- Cleaned the Bumper Pin and Accessories Shelves
- Cleaned the Chamber Storage Racks
- Cleaned and Painted Die Cast Set-Up Cart
- Scrapped, Swept and Cleaned floor
STANDARDIZE
- Painted traffic lines on floor
- Labeled all Shot Rod Racks, Chamber Racks and Accessories Shelves
- Taped and Labeled the Bumper pins in groups of four of equal lengths
- Updated and laminated information and charts for Chamber Racks
- Added Set-Up Chart on bulletin board in Break Room
SUSTAIN
- Incorporated changes made during 5S event into weekly 5S tour
REMAINING ACTION ITEMS
- Inventory and Standardize Shot Rods and Chambers
- Inventory Cover Die thicknesses and prepare matrix for Shot rod lengths
- Continuously Improve the Set-Up 5S through use of the weekly 5S tours
