RE: PART NUMBER MATRIX TEAM MEETING

1.Identify the Constraint (State the Problem):

Wrong part numbers are set-up in tools and ran in production

2.Exploit (Define causes and cures):

POSSIBLE CAUSES:

• No Instructions or matrices to help indicate the difference between the various part numbers

POSSIBLE CURES (ACTION ITEMS):

• Need Part Matrix for similar parts
• Need to develop a book of pictures that identifies the specific differences between similar parts

3.Subordinate (Involve\train others):

1. Matrix Team to design and implement matrices, picture books and work instructions required

   a. Team members include: Bill, Billy, Martha, David and Terry

b. MEETING ON AUGUST 25, 2003 at 2:00 pm

* Develop (3) Books – Mike

1. (1) Book for each QA, Tool Room, and Front Office (on Cabinet by Martha)

2. Sleeved page protectors, Customer dividers

3. Develop a standard page format for the book with Customer, P/N, Rev and Date

4. Books to be controlled as documents by Mike

* “Old” matrices from Tool Room – Bill and Billy

1. Bill to gather all old guides for customers - I, W, H, etc.

2. Billy to review, update and submit new guides using the standard form

* Customer W – Martha

1. Martha to get updated approval list and matrix from John Oxton

2. Mike and Bill are to ensure the part boards are up to date

* Customer I – Terry

1. Start with X Series Body Part numbers and tools

2. Make note of which tools are approved

* Customer H – Terry

1. Need guide for X, E and M

2. Pictures of new part numbers

* After these are completed the team will proceed with other customers
